How to exchange Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and best-known cryptocurrency, with a free rate. You can exchange it for rubles, USDT, other coins or cash via an exchanger monitor.

Step 1. Pick a direction

Decide what you want to receive: rubles to a card/instant payment, cash or another crypto. Open the Bitcoin page and choose the direction.

Step 2. Compare exchangers

Compare the rate, reserve and rating. The BTC rate is free and moves — lock the amount when reserving. How to choose an office — 7 signs of a reliable exchanger.

Step 3. Account for the network fee

The Bitcoin network fee depends on load. For small fast payments there is Bitcoin LN (Lightning Network) with a low fee.

Step 4. AML for a large amount

Before a large operation an AML check of the address makes sense.

Common mistakes

  • Sending to an address on a different network (BTC ≠ Bitcoin LN ≠ BTCB) — verify the address format.
  • Calculating with an outdated rate — BTC is volatile.
  • Ignoring the exchanger's reserve.

In short

  • BTC is an asset with a free rate; the amount can change before the deal is done.
  • Compare rate + reserve + rating; account for the network fee.
  • For small payments consider Lightning.
