Decentralization means the network runs on many independent nodes with no single controlling center, so it is hard to shut down or forge records. This increases resilience and transparency, but also shifts responsibility to the user: there is no «support» to reverse a mistaken transfer. Hence the importance of checking addresses and networks yourself.
