Exchange glossary
Short definitions of the terms you meet when exchanging crypto and currencies.
Core terms
- Exchanger monitor — a service that collects rates from different exchange offices and shows them in one place (for example, BestChange). Our site uses this data for reference.
- Exchange direction — the "what you send → what you receive" pair, for example USDT → Sberbank.
- Rate — how many units of the received currency you get per unit of the sent one.
- Reserve — the amount of currency an exchanger has available for a given direction.
- Exchange office (exchanger) — the service that performs the exchange operation itself.
Crypto terms
- Stablecoin — a cryptocurrency pegged to the value of a fiat currency (USDT, USDC ≈ 1 dollar).
- Network (blockchain) — the environment a coin is issued and transferred on (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, etc.). More in the article on USDT networks.
- Address — a wallet identifier for receiving funds on a specific network.
- AML check — an assessment of a crypto address's "cleanliness". More in a separate article.
Other
- Fiat — ordinary money (rubles, dollars, euros).
- SBP — the Faster Payments System in Russia.
- Network fee — the charge for a blockchain transfer, depends on the network and its load (more).
